This is Pastor Jess Thomason from 1s Congregational UCC in Lake View. As you probably can guess from the date of htis I have returned from my first General Synod and I survived!! It was a wonderful experience that had me captivated from the time of my check in at the motel until we had our final breakfast together with Rich at the Panera bread diner 2 blocks from our motel! It was a working vacation for me and I enjoyed the whole time. Even though our illustrious leader thought we should have a caucus each morning at 6:45 Michigan time which was 5:45 for us Iowegians.
ReplyDeleteJust kidding Rich it was good time to see all our fellow delegates and to see what was going on in the different committees.
I would suggest that if you have never been to a general synod that you take the time to visit one in the future. They make you see what the church is doing in other parts of the country rather than just here in our little part of the bigger picture.
We are indeed a diverse denomination and that is what makes us so wonderful!!
